Community should be constant!

Hello!! It has been WAY TO LONG!! I was spending sometime growing and praying of where this ministry is going. I have missed talking with you!! I started a YouTube channel! Please go check that out!

Jesus asked me a question, “Where would you be without all the people that love and care about? Also the people you love and care about too?”

Honestly, I wouldn’t be that far.

(We must remember that Jesus is the one who carries you, but it is very hard without others along side you.) My question to you is: do you have one (or more) person that you can count on and they can count on you? Community in Christ is key.

Living without community is foolish.

Some say, “I have Jesus and that’s all I need.” Yes, Jesus is a very good friend to have, but even Jesus knew He needed community. One of the first things He did was find His disciples. Mark 1:16-20, Jesus calls the first disciples, Simon and Andrew.

Before that even, “Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness…””

‭‭Genesis‬ ‭1:26‬a ‭ESV‬‬

The Father, Son and Holy Spirit are in community with each other. God calls us to be like Him so we must live in a godly community.

Find community that will grow you in Christ and your love for Him.

“And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.”

‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭10:24-25‬ ‭ESV‬‬

You are the Light of the world, like a city on a hilltop!

A city is made up of several houses and buildings, a community of Light!

I hope you have an amazing day!

Who are you???

Guess what!?!?! We (meaning you and I, because we are on this journey together) are going to start a series on this blog! This series is going to be called “Who are you???”.  We need to have a pre-week 1 before we can dive into week 1. So here we go! 😊

Do you ever wake up and hear that voice asking you, “Who are you??? Who are you to even wake up this morning? You should be dead. Who are you to be working here?? No one even sees you. Who are you to say that to them? You don’t even believe that yourself.” That voice just questions WHO you are and WHERE you are. It tells you, “You are unqualified, unloved, not seen, a failure, just some trash, not enough, not smart enough, not heard, a mess, broken, a thing, alone.” The list goes on and on and on and on. But when that soundtrack starts to play how do you turn it down? How do you “put in the earplugs”?
I found that it can be very hard to find the volume on the speakers. I have been doing some Sword work (looking in the Bible) about this and God just dropped this word in my mailbox. To understand who we are in Christ we need to know who we are in. By this I mean we need to know who Jesus says He is and know that it is the Truth. Then we can fully understand who we are in Christ. So I want to give you all some Names and Titles for Jesus.
God tells us Jesus is His “Beloved Son of God.” – Matt. 3:17. And Jesus is, Faithful and True,- Rev. 19:11, the Good Shepherd,- John 10:11, I am,- John 8:58, Immanuel,- Isaiah 7:14, Light of the World😊,- John 8:12, Peace,- Eph. 2:14, the Resurrection and the Life, – John 11:25, Victorious One, – Rev. 3:21, Bright Morning Star, – Rev. 22:16.
Jesus is the Resurrection and we are in Him then we have new life! And Jesus is the Victorious One then we have victory even when the world doesn’t.

I think you see where I am going with this. 😊 Jesus is the Light of the world and He is in us so we are the Light of the world too!
So first to understand who we are in Christ is to see who Christ is. This week I want to challenge you to find just one name of Jesus that stands out to you and repeat it over and over and over in your head. For an example if you took the name the Resurrection and look up what it means in the Dictionary (or Google😊) and then maybe ask your pastor what he thinks it means, and he may throw some Greek into it.😉 I will being doing this challenge with you too because I will never tell you to do something that I am not doing too. So find a Name of Jesus that sticks out to you and meditate on it all week. When you are in class, ( but listen to the teacher!) at work, in bed, and any down time you have. This is a short post but it is to prepare you for the start of our series. I am so humbled to be talking with you all! Thank you reading!!
You are the Light of the world!

Much love, KM

The Fight

I remember that night. It was the night I was just so empty that I felt like if someone would even touch me I would break. I remember kneeling on the bathroom floor so broken and depressed. I wanted to fade away so I could be “safe” from all the hurt. I was so numb that I couldn’t even cry.
Rewind a few months before and you would find me and my siblings listening to my parents tell us they were getting a divorce. I will never forget that day. But I think it may be in a different way from what you think. I will remember that day not because of how angry, sad, worried, or confused I was. I will remember it because it was the day I began a two-year Fight I would put up. A Fight against depression, bitterness, anxiety, fear, worry, numbness, and the prince of all that.
If you know me you will know I don’t like to show one side of me. What I mean by that is I have a part of me that I hid away from everyone. And right now I am just fighting to maybe not type this. Before I say it I want to tell you that this post is not to get any attention but to tell my story of how God took my life and changed me. And this post is not about how I have it all together. Because I do not. So here goes everything. I struggle with depression. I struggle with anxiety. Now these two things work hand in hand with each other. First I will get a thought about anything I mean ANYTHING and my anxiety will take it and run with it. Then my anxiety will hand it off to depression and it will repeat and repeat and repeat all my failures, sins, and worries. I will get in such deep waters that all I think is, I’M DROWNING! SOMEONE HELP!

And finally I have sold my heart, mind, soul, and body to depression and anxiety. And this is where I found myself on the bathroom floor at probably 1am in the morning. “I just can’t sleep,” I told myself, “not like I can any night.” So I got up and made my way to the bathroom but just broke down when I walked in. I had so many things, thoughts, and problems hitting my head in waves. But at that one moment I had one thought… I matter.
See the prince of depression knows just how to hit me in a way that all of my worth seems to fade away. And I believe it. “He was a murderer from the beginning. He has always hated the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, it is consistent with his character; for he is a liar and the father of lies.”

‭‭John‬ ‭8:44‬b. But on the bathroom floor of all places God told me in a voice that is not heard but much louder that I have value. And for the next few weeks God just kept telling me that through people, pictures, songs, and His Word.
Now every day I am learning that I have a Fight. A Fight that I put a capital at the front of because it is a very important Fight because I Fight to live everyday. For when I have depression and anxiety I do not live at all. It is a shell not me. I Fight to push back the anxiety and depression so I can live. But I can’t do it at all. So I Fight with God as my, Life, Hope, Joy, Father, my everything.
I want to share this with you because if God can can walk with me in my depression He can also walk with you in your________. Fill in that blank with whatever you are going through.

But you need to understand that He will sometimes not save you but will walk through the “fire” with you. (Isaiah 43:1-13)
These pictures are a reminder to me of what I was and who I am now.

The black dress tells of my depression and anxiety. With the word “depression” on my arm is to say that I will not hide any more.
The white dress tells of my new life.

Life full of color (flowers) and new roots (the bouquet of leafs). I based the photographs around the verse 1 Peter 2:9. “But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light.”

‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭2:9‬

The black dress is the darkness. And the white dress is the wonderful light.

Because of the Cross my depression is washed away. Without Jesus I would not be standing today.
I hope you were encouraged by the AMAZING thing the Beautiful Father did in my life.

You all have AWESOME I mean AWESOME things God has done in your life and will do soon. Go out today and listen to the Truth of God

that is being sung over your life.
“That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong.”

‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭12:10‬ ‭
You are the Light of the world- like a city that cannot be hidden!

Extra! Extra! Read all about it!

Do you ever look at just the headlines and get depressed? I mean you don’t even need to look at the full article to feel down. And the news can be a little bit scary too. News about terrorists and shootings can definitely be nerve-racking. But did you know that God has “Breaking News” too? God has all kinds of news. One of the news sources that God has is the Bible, and honestly it is completely reliable. Imagine if you found out that two men were arrested and in jail but that night an amazing thing happened. The two men were singing and praying to God all night after they were beaten. Then a big earthquake came and ALL the jail doors flew open! The prison guard thought that all the prisoners got out so he decided to kill himself. But just before the sword pierced him a voice called out saying, “Stop! Don’t kill yourself! We are all here!” The guard went where he had heard the voice and saw that all the prisoners were still there. Then and there the prison guard asked the two men how he could be saved. The men told him, “Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved, along with everyone in your household.” And you found this all in today’s newspaper. (Acts 16:16-36) I call the book of Acts God’s headlines, but that is just one of his news sources. Now you could be thinking, this is cheesy and old fashion. But you can find some amazing stories from missionaries about the ways that God moves today. And call it cheesy but this is how I see the book of Acts.

So today I want to talk about one of my favorite “Headlines” God put in Acts. It is Acts 3:1-11 and I want you to read through it and think about the things that pop-out to you.

First our main characters are: Peter, John, and man that has been lame from birth. Now I want to point out that the lame man goes to the Beautiful Gate each day. (So this guy is persistent! 😊) Ask yourself if you think that many people passed him every day? I don’t think Peter and John were the first to pass him, so the lame man did not expect much. He was passed by every day even by the Church goers. When Peter and John were about to enter the lame man asked them for money, but Peter looked at him intently. (Sometimes we just need to give up some time and intently spend time and talk with others.) Then Peter said, “Look at us!” and the lame man looked at them and totally thought he was about to get some money but he didn’t. Peter told him, “I don’t have any silver or gold for you. But I’ll give you what I have. In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene get up and walk!” Whoa!! The lame man thought he was just going get money but God had a bigger picture. When the lame man woke up that morning do you he was thinking, I am going to be healed today? Look at verse 7 where it says, Then Peter took the lame man by the right hand and helped him up. And as he did, the MAN’s feet and ankles were instantly healed and strengthened! Oh man this part is so good!! So look at the first half of the verse it says lame man…but right after the problem that had affected him all his life was gone he was now going by the name of man. At that one moment all his past was wiped away even from his name! Lame man to man!! Then it says that he jumped, stood, walked, and praised God. I think it’s just plain awesome that he did not get caught up in himself but just knew that God was definitely in all of it! So now you see this guy that all his past has been swept away by Jesus and he just walks in the Temple with Peter and John! When he gets in there all the people who walked by him every time they went to the Temple saw that he was up and walking. In verse 9 & 10 it says that it took the people a little bit to recognize him but when they did the people were absolutely astounded!

Now I hear you saying, “Um that’s a cool account from the Bible but I don’t see what I can do with it.” Well there is a big..I mean big part to this that I have missed every time I read it for a long time. This real account tells us that any sin or past that we think is too big to forget can be forever forgiven! The man was lame from birth and he was healed by the power of Jesus. And when he was healed his title that had stayed with him all of his life was washed away in a single moment. Lovely people, we have all sinned (Romans 3:23) but we have a Healer… Just as the lame man did. Really we have the same Healer as him, Jesus. Romans 3:24 explains it very well, “Yet God freely and graciously declares that we are righteous. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins.”
When the people at the Temple saw the man up and walking they knew that God’s hand was in it. So when you have been forgiven people will see God’s hand your life too. You are the Light!

Light of the world

Light of the World

Hello!! Today I would love to tell you all about a beautiful verse that brings me so much JOY! It is Matthew 5:14. Oh man! This is a wonderful reminder to live by! I want you to picture yourself in your room. Alone. You just found out that you lost your job. You have a chain wrapped round your heart that has a big weight at the end of it. You have no spouse to help. You think of your kids as you have no way to support them. Your heart is breaking. Even in that picture of hopelessness you still can find joy. Or maybe you are a young girl that just found out that your parents are getting a divorce. There is a joy. Yes, sometimes it can be hard to find but it’s there. A joy that can’t come from the world. A joy that is found is a little boy. And you may be thinking, A little boy? How can joy come from a little boy? Well, I will tell you. This little boy was born one night in a backyard of a hotel with no rooms open. His mom was a fourteen year old girl that was engaged to a guy that was about sixteen. Now I know it sounds crazy but ALL my joy is found in this boy that comes from a broken family. This boy came down from Heaven and became a boy in this world. His beautiful name is Jesus Christ. His Father is God. John 3:16- For this is how God loved the world: He gave His one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life. That boy came down, grew up, then died when He was thirty, but it didn’t end there. He died on a cross then was buried in a tomb, but after three days He rose from the tomb! Hello! That is crazy!! I can’t tell you how much joy that gives me! This blog is ALL about this story!!

Main point: Jesus is the Light of the World! We all NEED Him to have joy in the easy and in the hard. When you have a job or no job, parents together or not. When you have Jesus in your life you will have SO much joy in every aspect of life! Taste and see that the Lord is good. Oh, the JOYS of those who take refuge in HIM! (Psalm 34:8) Guys, if you don’t know Him go find a Christian church, find the pastor and ask him what to do! I would be honored to talk with you as well. Comment below so we can talk!😊 I can’t tell you how much joy you will have!

You are the Light of the world.

Thank you all for reading today! I pray that you will find the joy and share the Light!

Much love,

When you saw the word food I bet you thought about…pizza, doughnuts, hamburgers, cookies, or tacos. You might have been thinking of what you are going to make tonight for dinner, but today I’m going to talk about a food that doesn’t feed our stomach, but our SOULS. Ok, first I need to tell you if you are hungry then go eat some food. You can NOT read this on a  empty stomach. So go eat something.

Full? Good. We all have had a time that we are just overwhelmed, and our soul is tired. What do we do? I know for me I like to run and hide and try to find something that gives me peace. But… I look to the world. And whether we know it or not we all do this. We may go to complaining, anger, self harm,  celebrities,  busyness, or even doubting God. But sadly we all come up depressed, ashamed, and alone. Or so we think. Humans have never had a feeling of aloneness. You could be thinking about your deep dark moments and say, “I was alone.” But as crazy as it sounds your were not alone at all. Nope, God was there. He was there when you were crying yourself to sleep after your husband died. He was there when you had thoughts of suicide. He was there when the doctor said you had cancer. He was there when you were in chruch doubting God Himself. I know this sounds like a rabbit trail from food but we needed to clear this  up before I get to food. In those moments when feeling  overwhelmed where should we go instead of the world? To the food that feeds our souls. The Word of God. If you are a Christian you could be thinking , “Here it comes again.” I encourage you to listen with new ears and your heart open. Or you could be a new member of God’s beautiful family! I hope you get some new verses to underline, and also some Truth! (If know what I mean.😊) (Check John 14:6) Maybe you not a believer if so I urge you to listen, because if you accept this then it will save your life. God’sWord is alive and powerful. Hebrews 4:12.  For the Word of God will never fail. Luke 1:37. The Word of God continued to spread. Acts 12:24. I want to give you some points:

1# God’s Words will bring peace.

The definition of peace is: freedom from or the cessation of war or violence. God’s Word give you peace from your war of stress, hopelessly, or doubt. Hebrews 13:20-21 says, “Now may the God of peace– who brought up from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great Shepherd of the sheep, and ratified an eternal covenant with his blood-may he equip you with all you need for doing his will. May he produce in you through the power of Jesus Christ, every good thing that is pleasing to him. All glory to him forever and ever! Amen.”

2# Jesus is the Word.

He is the Word is Life as it is said in John 1:1-18. And if He is the Word and He is the God of peace then if we look to His word we will find peace that exceeds anything we can understand! As Philippians 4:6-7 says.  Memorize those verses so that when you have a tired soul you can speak them over your heart.

Main point: God’s Word is food for our souls. If we go to it when we need peace and “chew” (memorize, think, read.) on it then we will feel a deep peace.

I want to leave you with this: If you look for me (God) wholeheartedly, you will find me. Jeremiah 29:13. Seek Him today. Luke 11:9-10

Remember you are the Light of this world!!

Much Love,     KM

Today. I want to talk about today. Do you ever feel that tomorrow is right around the corner? Do you feel like you need to stay up late so you can get all of your papers done in time? Or like you need to think for hours about what you are going to wear on that date tomorrow? Maybe you are up refusing to sleep so that appointment will not come. Guys, I have these thoughts and worries too! We could spend all night worrying and wondering what will happen, but we need to stop. We need to stop worrying. When we are afraid it weighs on our souls. When we worry it turns to fear, then we become sad, next depression, and finally we become numb to all feelings. Now some of you have had this happen before or you are going through it right now. If you have gone through it then you know it is a very, very hard road. If you feel that you are going through this I want to tell you that there is a Hope. This Hope is Jesus Christ. Jesus even touched on this because He knew that we would worry. Matthew 6:34 says, “So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring it’s own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.” We need to rise up above the standards of the world. The world will worry about all kinds of things….from the ice caps melting to the new president. The world will worry about everything! We need to keep our thoughts fixed on Jesus and His beautiful Father as Isaiah 26:3-4 reminds us. God is our rock! I want to give you some tips. Think about them when you worry next time.

What? What are you worrying about?

Worth it? Is it worth it? When you worry about it that will take up valuable time that you could use to impact someone.

Why? Why are you worrying about it? God has it.

Don’t. Don’t keep it. Give it to God so He can take care of it. He wants to take your burdens so you need to give Him all of them. All the worries, anxieties, and stress.

So let’s think about today. Live moment to moment.

Be on guard. Stand firm in the faith. Be courageous. Be strong. And do everything with love. 1 Corinthians 16:13-14

People will see you with no worries and will want to see how you do it. You are the Light!!

Much Love, KM
