When you saw the word food I bet you thought about…pizza, doughnuts, hamburgers, cookies, or tacos. You might have been thinking of what you are going to make tonight for dinner, but today I’m going to talk about a food that doesn’t feed our stomach, but our SOULS. Ok, first I need to tell you if you are hungry then go eat some food. You can NOT read this on a empty stomach. So go eat something.
Full? Good. We all have had a time that we are just overwhelmed, and our soul is tired. What do we do? I know for me I like to run and hide and try to find something that gives me peace. But… I look to the world. And whether we know it or not we all do this. We may go to complaining, anger, self harm, celebrities, busyness, or even doubting God. But sadly we all come up depressed, ashamed, and alone. Or so we think. Humans have never had a feeling of aloneness. You could be thinking about your deep dark moments and say, “I was alone.” But as crazy as it sounds your were not alone at all. Nope, God was there. He was there when you were crying yourself to sleep after your husband died. He was there when you had thoughts of suicide. He was there when the doctor said you had cancer. He was there when you were in chruch doubting God Himself. I know this sounds like a rabbit trail from food but we needed to clear this up before I get to food. In those moments when feeling overwhelmed where should we go instead of the world? To the food that feeds our souls. The Word of God. If you are a Christian you could be thinking , “Here it comes again.” I encourage you to listen with new ears and your heart open. Or you could be a new member of God’s beautiful family! I hope you get some new verses to underline, and also some Truth! (If know what I mean.😊) (Check John 14:6) Maybe you not a believer if so I urge you to listen, because if you accept this then it will save your life. God’sWord is alive and powerful. Hebrews 4:12. For the Word of God will never fail. Luke 1:37. The Word of God continued to spread. Acts 12:24. I want to give you some points:
1# God’s Words will bring peace.
The definition of peace is: freedom from or the cessation of war or violence. God’s Word give you peace from your war of stress, hopelessly, or doubt. Hebrews 13:20-21 says, “Now may the God of peace– who brought up from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great Shepherd of the sheep, and ratified an eternal covenant with his blood-may he equip you with all you need for doing his will. May he produce in you through the power of Jesus Christ, every good thing that is pleasing to him. All glory to him forever and ever! Amen.”
2# Jesus is the Word.
He is the Word is Life as it is said in John 1:1-18. And if He is the Word and He is the God of peace then if we look to His word we will find peace that exceeds anything we can understand! As Philippians 4:6-7 says. Memorize those verses so that when you have a tired soul you can speak them over your heart.
Main point: God’s Word is food for our souls. If we go to it when we need peace and “chew” (memorize, think, read.) on it then we will feel a deep peace.
I want to leave you with this: If you look for me (God) wholeheartedly, you will find me. Jeremiah 29:13. Seek Him today. Luke 11:9-10
Remember you are the Light of this world!!
Much Love, KM
